Snow: makes things more interesting than they usually would be.

Also, makes feet wetter than they usually should be. I anticipate the onset of frostbite soon.

very nice contrast between the two of them, however the detail of the bricks draws too much attention to it and makes the scene quite busy.

I never noticed it before, but you're right. On the other hand though, I think if the focus was on the tree and snow it wouldn't be busy enough - and there's a million and one shots of snow on trees. That could me me self-justifying it, but I'm quite good at that so it's ok!

I like two things about this: one is the contrast of colour. The other is the tiny tiny straight bricks against the tangles of the tree branches.
